CIRCUS ARTISTS BRING ENTERTAINMENT AND CANCER AWARENESS TO DUKE UNIVERSITY
Playing By Air to Present a Fusion of Circus, Music, and Theater
at Page Auditorium, Friday, March 4 at 7:00pm

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Playing By Air Productions announces an event to bring the Duke and regional community together through a fusion of arts, entertainment, and cancer awareness.  The Nashville-based company will perform its self-titled production, Playing By Air, at Duke University’s Page Auditorium on Friday, March 4. The performance is open to the public and general admission tickets are free.

Playing By Air features juggling, music, and physical comedy in an adventure of unconventional musicians who find unexpected joy from the everyday objects they discover. The performance is enjoyed equally by students, children, and parents, and offers the community an opportunity to come together through an evening of laughter and inspiring feats of skill.

Local cancer non-profit organizations are invited to participate in this event to increase public awareness of their programs and services in the theater lobby and on the event web site. Playing By Air performers frequently entertain for cancer support programs, and past performances have been described as "tremendously inspiring, impressive, and amusing" and "a gift of laughter and joy."

"We are excited to bring this production to Duke University and North Carolina, which are excellent models of cancer care and community collaboration" said Jacob Weiss, PhD, director of Playing By Air. Individuals and organizations dedicated to cancer care, support, and prevention are encouraged to contact Playing By Air to learn more about opportunities to get involved. Information is available at www.playingbyaircares.com and by phone at 888-584-4532.

Playing By Air will be at Page Auditorium at Duke University on Friday, March 4 at 7:00 pm. A talkback with the artists will follow the show. The performance is open to the public and general admission tickets are free. The event is sponsored by the Duke Circus student organization and the Student Organization Finance Committee.
